Rio Grande - A Herald article on cyber crime referenced the "dark net" as an Internet for criminals. That's not accurate. The "dark net" is any network not connected to the Internet. The term he means is the "deep web," a hidden Internet. The part of it populated by criminals is strangely called "onionland." Although it's mostly populated by the web's worst criminals, there are also law-abiding people in the "deep web" concerned about privacy from the NSA's spying and Obama's Fourth Amendment violations. I tried to post this spout from "onionland," but the Herald blocks it.
