CMC is a beautiful place. The sunsets are stunning. Arguably the best beaches. Yet, there's an ugly side to it that tourists see. Poverty, lack of agencies and funding, closed waiting list for housing, no detox or rehabs. They claim they want to clean up the county. How? With no funds, programs, shelters or a place to get off the street or detox, the cycle continues, spreads. Fact is we are locals, a.k.a. the invisible, unimportant ones. We live here in a ghost town while the rich go to Florida. We cannot compete with the money of tourists, but we should matter!
