I just listened to a talking head on TV blame our increase in violence on the pandemic. People were frustrated and stressed over losing their jobs and having to stay in. I would ask this talking head to respectfully consider the fact that the people responsible for most of the violence did not have jobs before the pandemic, but rather partied at speak easies, street parties and “AirBNB” parties. In these same neighborhoods, thousands of ‘essential workers’ struggled to brave Covid daily, trying to lead a good life. They do not be made victims by ne’er do wells & thugs.
