People are concerned the US Mint is stopping penny production next year. Let me put your mind at ease. The penny will still be legal tender, just like the $2 bill, which is still printed, they just won't produce new penny. Also it only cost 3.2 cents to produce a paper bill, unlike a penny which costs almost 4 cents to produce one penny! This is costing U.S. taxpayers “over $179 million” (or, 17.9 billion pennies) through 2023.Also stopping penny production was first proposed under the Obama Administration, both Trump and Biden supported the idea!
