The root of all evil is greed, not money. Money and/or property of value are necessary for a functioning society to trade and barter. To say money is evil is to say it is wrong to enjoy the fruits of your own labor. How dare you lift yourself up or work towards the dream of prosperity. And I have to add that switching greed with money does make a useful propaganda tool for the social/communist movements. These movements are time-tested and proven to lead to the worst suffering humanity has every known. Greed is the evil act, not the money earned for your own labor!
