Ocean View - In response to a spout: Yes, a non-essential vehicle owned by the fire district was in an accident on Route 9. This vehicle was not a "fire truck," it was a pick-up truck. No, the accident was not caused by the driver of the fire vehicle. It was reported like any other accident is required to be. There was an accident report done by the NJSP. Another spout simply to put down the fire company; no concern was given to the four firefighters who were injured in the accident. Yes, it was covered by insurance, but there have been no efforts made to replace the vehicle.
