Ocean View - I saw NJDOT out filling cracks on Route 9 with hot tar April 13. I'm glad to see they are doing the proper maintenance to our state roadways to ensure potholes don't develop. Why doesn't the county do anything at all to maintain or repair the county roads? County roads are crumbling, making them dangerous, and all they do is put up 'winter damaged road' signs.

Moderator's Note:
The county, in an emergency appropriation spent $200,000, and will spend $2 million just to repair potholes from this winter, according to Freeholder Director Gerald Thornton. Keep in mind, roads can be either state, county or municipal. If DOT crews are fixing roads, they are state-owned, if municipal workers are doing repairs, it’s a municipal road, and if it’s a county road, then county crews are responsible.
