A word on naming schools after people, it might be ok if the person getting the recognition paid for the entire school/campus, not just a boost in salary to the staff. I would also add unless a politician was wealthy before being elected ,they can't be the name because in reality that's our money. I also prefer names of the town the school is located in or, a non political name like one of the schools I attended "Strawbridge". Nowadays (and possibly since this started) when you put an individuals name on something there's always going to be people against it for one reason or another.

Moderator's Note: What about naming after someone who epitomizes heroic actions or civic accomplishments, or moral rectitude? There are certainly many things to consider when naming streets, schools, buildings, towns, etc. after a person. What seems good to one generation seems bad to the next, as we are seeing in the renaming frenzy of today.
