Does our county road department director ever drive on any of the county-owned roadways? He must not, as the roads have deteriorated to the point that they are literally crumbling. For an area that depends on the summer tourism, it's not very welcoming to have tourists driving on these roads on their way to the shore communities. Putting up "Winter Damaged Road" signs and putting cold patch in hundreds, if not thousands of potholes is not a solution. It's embarrassing to have our roads in such a state of neglect.
