Ocean City - Property taxes, the elephant in the room. In some N.J. towns the school budget is 60% of the tax bill. How could that be? How did people let that happen? Our public school system is broken. Our budgets are top heavy, with 6-figure executive salaries, unnecessary administrative positions and powerful union demands that elevate school budgets. The result - high property taxes. The problem is an out of control, poorly managed, unfocused public school system. Fix that, and property taxes are also fixed. There's no need for olympic -sized pools, huge auditoriums and gymnasiums, and a massive sports complex.
