Ocean City - A Middle Twp. spouter remarked, "If you want to live on barrier islands, fine. Just don't ask taxpayers to pay to pump sand on the beach to protect your home only to have the sand wash away. As for tourism, tourism just creates low paying jobs. Cape May County would be nice with fewer people." Obviously this person has no idea how much the barrier islands mean to tourism, and how much tourism means to the economy here. Yes, there would be fewer people, and most would be on welfare, because, like it or not, most every job in the county is within "six degrees of tourism."
