Ocean City - A Lower Twp. spouter was 100 percent right when he said we were never meant to live on barrier islands. He was dead wrong when he said we should end federal flood insurance. We cannot turn back the clock. People moved here and invested millions and the lifeblood of the economy pumps in tourist/summer residents' hearts. Lots of us don't plan to leave because people in the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries were arrogant on building up these big sandbars.
