Ocean City - I was astounded by the 68 thumbs down a SH spouter got for speaking the truth. Most of the tax burden of the shore towns is carried by people who occupy their shore homes for six or less months a year. Lots of them love their shore towns as much as the locals, but for many varying reasons, can't live there full-time. The spouter remarked, quite accurately, that those non-resident taxpayers have absolutely no say in how those towns are managed. They pay taxes, but have no vote. We can mock or degrade them as much as we want, but without their money, where would we be?
