Hallelujah!

Ocean City - Hallelujah! Another bold and daring Avalon/Stone Harbor spouter offered the opinion that those two towns do not need two police departments and two fire departments! Of course, the same could be said several times over for the Five Mile Island. Neither the year-round nor summer populations make it practical to maintain two separate public safety organizations on that island. It is just not cost effective. The natural barrier to that is that local politicians like the control they can exercise with their own agencies; but then again, does that island even need to be two towns?
