Ocean City - Attention boaters: You should know that the Coast Guard closes boat traffic going south at the 9th Street bridge during Nights in Venice. This information was not widely available, as many boats were detained in this area by the Coast Guard Auxiliary until after nightfall when the channel finally reopened. Many boats were forced to navigate home in the dark with thunderstorms approaching with no prior notice that they would be unable to leave Ocean City. A very unsafe condition for all involved.
