Ocean City - An anti-beach replenishment spouter disputed that tourism was essential to Cape May County. Then, in a scholarly way, he remarked that there are economies based on other things. Yes there are, but not in this county. Being located on a peninsula with very limited natural resources or availability of easy transportation, coupled with our location in relationship to other economic centers along with our history has left us no reasonable choice but to rely on tourism. Don't they teach geography, economics and sociology in Cape May County schools?
