A Lower Township spouter was very wrong when stating that public employees are not special. They are special for the simple reason that they perform absolutely necessary services and if they were not there to perform those services, our communities would implode. We can live without new cars, restaurants, landscaping, etc., but we can't survive without solid/liquid waste management, potable water, fire and police protection, etc. When the spouter picked a career as a youngster, for some reason, he did not choose to work for the paving crew, or police, etc. Who needs whom? Get real.
