It's a familiar refrain. Something violent happens. Then the public officials say that there is no place for violence in their community, or that it will not be tolerated. They intend to be inspiring. But it's starting to have the opposite effect. They don't mean that all violence will be prevented, or that they can prevent it. They can't. Government can only do so much. Sometimes it's up to you to protect yourself. And Trump can only do so much to MAGA. We need not just a great leader or White House appointees to MAGA- also we need a social movement. We need to do it ourselves.
