I read in the Herald that a seagull attacked a 2-year-old child while taking food from her. This type of behavior is a direct result of humans feeding gulls. Gulls are naturally aggressive feeders who have lost their fear of contact with humans, and they have found scavenging from humans easy. I also see that the child's father may have killed the gull, defending his child, and he may face serious charges for killing a migratory bird. This is a tragic result of people like a recent Brigantine spouter feeding gulls. It is wrong to encourage interaction between humans and wild animals.
