A frequent Spout Off topic revolves around CMCo's reliance on tourism. We see such comments like "we already have too many people" or "my job has nothing to do with tourism." What people miss is that we have no choice but to live with the conditions our past has laid out for us. We cannot turn back the clock and live on fishing and farming. The draw of the seaside has had the same effect on almost all of the coastline with temperate climates. Tourism rules the coasts of the U.S. Barrier-island homes equal everyone's livelihood.
