Why is it that Trump supporters can not admit that he made error

North Wildwood - Why is it that Trump supporters can not admit that he made errors in judgement with regards to the documents he took from Washington? He was asked to return them on several occasions, and did not fully comply. Yes, he was the President, and searching his home was a very serious action by the FBI. I don't see where they had any choice. What am I missing?
