North Wildwood - Sadness, disappointment, frustration, helplessness, and anger - our sentiments about the political ploy orchestrated by the current North Wildwood mayor and council in respect to the cherished Hereford Inlet Lighthouse. They started their takeover and now, the years of tradition of the Fresnel lens is gone. A blinking beacon has replaced it. Why? I’m sure we’ll hear the usual rhetoric, but the obvious reality is the light is now a nuisance. It is bothering the "McMansions" that are newly surrounding the north-end icon. And, it was done off-season.
