North Wildwood - Regarding residency requirements for North Wildwood Police: I do not care if they live in town or not, but understand the argument. True community policing is enhanced by the resident policeman who can see things happen, and hear resident comments within the community and his neighborhood when off duty. The issue I have is why is a taxpayer-funded vehicle allowed to be driven 70 miles round trip daily causing more wear, maintenance and gas usage on the vehicle than in a normal 8-hour shift in our small town? Everyone else has to use their personal car to go to work, so why not police?
