North Wildwood - People like to think code enforcement has all this power. I am retired fire fighter, I know about codes. You can't force someone to paint or fix any property. Fines can be given but that's really all that can be done. The town can't paint or put a new roof on someones house, and they can't rip it down because it looks messy. Most they can do is clean up trash or mow grass. Fines do pile up but sometimes it takes years to get the money.
