North Wildwood - The paid firemen in Wildwood do a fine job, but for a shore resort with a small winter population, we have too many full-time, paid firemen. We only need three firehouses on the island, one in each; North Wildwood, Wildwood and Wildwood Crest. Wildwood can cover West Wildwood. We also need volunteers in all three towns, and when you consider that a ladder truck with three firemen from North Wildwood shows up on medical calls, we do not need too many volunteers. When firemen are running EMT calls in a ladder truck, there are too many full-time, paid firemen on the island.
