North Wildwood - North Wildwood Rescue Squad was disbanded when they could no longer respond. Response times were in excess of 20 minutes, or mutual aid had to be called. The squad paid some members from their own funds. They gave good service for many years. As with fire and police, medical emergency response time is vital. Volunteerism is way down on the island, so perhaps spouters will invest in training and the time to maintain certification, run calls and maybe turn that around? It will only get more difficult, as it is harder for younger people to maintain residence on the island.
