North Wildwood - A lot of effort has gone into replacing many of the wooden boards on the Boardwalk. However, from a glance at the concrete pillars on the underside of the Boardwalk, anyone can see the problem and effect that efflorescence has made on the concrete supports that date back to the previous century. The application of muriatic acid to remove the efflorescence has to be addressed in the near future, or the concrete supports for the Boardwalk will certainly be jeopardized.

Moderator's Note:
Efflorescence is a chalky deposit of salts that forms on the surface of porous materials like concrete, brick, or pavers.
