North Wildwood - The J-1 visa in the United States is for people who wish to take part in work-and-study-based exchange and visitor programs in the U.S. These programs are sponsored by an educational or other nonprofit institution. The J-1 should not be used by Shore Town employers to get cheap labor to clean hotel rooms, shill games of chance on the Boardwalk or bus / wait on tables. It is time to start paying people who work at Shore Towns a living wage or at least the true New Jersey Minimum Wage that they have lobbied to get around as "seasonal labor". If they pay fair, there will be plenty of workers.
