How does an employee accept a shared stipend position fully know

North Wildwood - How does an employee accept a shared stipend position fully knowing that they cannot fulfill their obligations due to a pre-scheduled event? Now the workload is dumped on the other employee and the monies are still split 50/50. This seems unfair and unethical at the least.
