North Wildwood - In the Herald article posted June 23 describing activity at the NW council meeting June 16, it states there were resolutions for engineering and affordable housing around Seaport Pier. What does this mean? Are they looking to put "affordable" (low-income) housing on the Boardwalk? Could you expand on your reporting?
Moderator's Note:
While the city has retained special counsel to advise it on the affordable housing mandate, no projects are presently planned. The vacant boardwalk pier at 22nd Avenue holds potential for commercial or tourism purposes. Because of those, the city is soliciting proposals from developers regarding the pier. There is no connection between affordable housing and the pier, according to Mayor Patrick Rosenello.
