North Wildwood - The erosion occurring in North Wildwood has zero correlation with sea-level rise, or land subsidence. Instead, these changes are due to the ebb tidal shoal's depletion, caused by the dual channel system appearing in 2010, onset by the channel closure of 1987, resulting in an erosional episode on our northern end. This is cyclical. "The City of North Wildwood will enter a swift period of episodic erosion, in term shedding sand to Wildwood, and the Hereford Inlet. Also noted, this event will not correlate to the rising of the Atlantic Ocean." - Army Corps of Engineers, 1987
