North Wildwood / Wildwood - There is much talk about abolishing the lifeguard pensions in Atlantic City due to massive abuse over the years. The biggest red flag is the use of guards working year-round (for a summer only job) to boost their pensions as they near retirement to the tune of $60,000 a year for a few retired guards. The AC taxpayers only need to blame the mayor the last two decades for allowing this to happen on their watch which is one of many items AC can no longer afford. I hope Cape May County mayors with lifeguard pensions are smarter and don't allow abuse of any kind to happen on their watch.
