The saddest part of the division in our country is what has happened to our flag and what it represents. Through wars and in times of peace, the sight of the American flag has given notice to foes and assurances to friends that democracy lives. No other symbol captures the power and glory of our nation like the American flag. Trumpers, on the other hand, wave American flags as a statement of division. The American flag is/was being used as an extension of the MAGA hat. That must end now.
