The New Jersey Dept. of Environmental Protection said North Wildwood removed densely vegetated dunes containing freshwater wetlands and critical wildlife habitat without legally required permits and approvals. NW also installed an oceanfront bulkhead without required permits or the engineering reviews conducted by the Agency to ensure public safety and environmental protection. The DEP said that NW and private contractor built multiple buildings on the Seaport Pier boardwalk, including an eatery and Tiki bar, without DEP review or approval.
