Last week, recipients of Supplemental Security Income (SSI), the federal program that provides financial assistance to disabled Americans and low-income Senior Citizens, were notified that they were no longer receiving benefits. After the matter was attacked by Democratic Senators like Elizabeth Warren, Acting SSI Commissioner explained that the error was a system glitch and error may be an indication of fallout from the layoffs within the agency when DOGE rid the Department of 7,000 workers.
