I live in North Wildwood and hired a contractor to replace my bulkhead 2 years ago . The contractor was to acquire all necessary permits. Now 2 years later The State of Nj is fining me for illegally building a Bulkhead and possibly making me remove it . The contractor only applied and was granted a zoning permit from the township and never applied for a land use permit from the State. I don't understand how the township can issue a permit without requiring a copy of the states permit first. When I built my house I had to have all state approvals first then the township would issue a permit.
