I just learned the city of north wildwood is hiring a new chief of police in august and he lives 40 miles outside the city. My question is why is any chief allowed outside the city. I always hear the police can’t afford to live in our city yet I am retired living on social security and an officer makes 100,000 and says they can’t afford to live in the city yet I have to on 12,000 a year. Change the rules and make the chief and all future hires to live in our city. We are paying tolls,gas and wear on a vehicle that should not be allowed to leave the city.
