I am owner of a second home in CMC. I made a choice to live here part-time, so I had to accept certain things. For example, I won’t get my taxes or homeowners pro-rated because I’m a part timer, I will pay for utilities when I’m not using the house, and I won’t get to vote in local elections. These were all known to me when I bought the place. Second homeowners should not get a vote in local elections as it would disproportionately dilute the voices of those living in the community year round. These are the voters who should be driving the local political landscape, not me.
