As a former North Wildwood lifeguard, it's with great concern to find out NWBP has hired 20 rookie lifeguards, with only a few veteran lifeguards choosing to return, allegedly due to poor morale and low confidence in the current leadership within NWBP. More alarming are those returning guards need only email in a completed re-qualification "pool swim" time to the NWBP captain. In the 80s and 90s, NWBP trained us that ocean knowledge and top physical fitness are the keys to safe beaches. The 'pink lifeguard chair in the room' is that those core values are lost!
