North Cape May - Over a year ago, Lower Township received a state grant to improve safety along Beach Drive by installing a walk/bike path. The residents objected to the project stating it would impact the beauty of the dunes, so the initiative was shelved. Is this funding still available? If so, can this project be re-engineered to not only satisfy safety concerns but also aesthetic concerns? For example, can we bury the utility lines, repair the sidewalks/road and then eliminate parking along the curb for the walk/bike path? Would like to see it invested in our community rather than have it go to waste.
