Regarding the letter to the editor titled, 'Proposed Sidewalk is Unnecessary:' This gentleman couldn't be more right. It could also be said in three words, a bad idea. Bikers, walkers and runners should not be on the same walkway because it is dangerous. Many walkers and runners prefer the level surface of the street, without the crack tripping potential of a walkway. The correct alternative is another three words, traffic flow change. Just because you have grant money in your pocket, doesn't mean you spend it on another L.T. project, unless there are other motives?
