The reason why there is a shortage of CDL drivers is because many people like myself were retired but still worked part time. We all gave up trying to renew our licences when they became due because of the foolish rules of NJMVC during Covid that had us use only certain doctors, usually other than our own, some closed, to medically certify us and laws being written that the cost of the exam was not allowed to be covered by existing insurance; insisting some renewals come in person to closed agencies.So now there is a driver shortage. Great opportunity for a person to get into that line of work.
