Many of us remember summer book reading in high school. One book in particular was George Orwell's '1984.' Revisited, the book, in relation to the times and the context, is more current today than ever. Big Brother, hidden microphones and telescreens. War is peace, freedom is slavery and ignorance is strength. These terms are related to double speak; where truth and lies are synonymous. With the political season in full swing, manipulation of the electorate, or what Orwell called the 'proles,' will be called to follow their words and not their actions!
