I was sad when they repealed the law prohibiting dogs on the beaches in North Cape May between 11-4, but I figured majority rules; put up with it. A large dog (not on a leash) ran at me several times Aug. 2. I am afraid of dogs I don't know. Then we all had the pleasure of watching this dog do his business in the water! Well, that certainly ruined what was left of my day at the beach! I am wondering, is there a number we could call if we see dogs off-leash on the beach? I feel it is not safe to confront the offending dog owners, no matter how politely.
