The earth has been in decomposition/methane gas of billions and billions of tons of leaves, underbrush, algae, animal bodies, human bodies rotting fish, wood from fallen trees just to name a few. It's been happening for millions years and they can't get that in their heads, but the planet is still here and fossil fuels are a moot point at a minimum but they just don't care!
