New Jersey - I went to the Teachers Convention in AC . I was Surprised at how poor the turnout was. Where were all of New Jersey teachers? A vendor told me teachers don’t attend like they once did because schools don’t make it mandatory for them to attend. Teachers go on vacation the week of the convention which falls during a week when they also have no school due to Election Day and Veterans Day. Most take either two personal or sick days and end up with a nice long week off to go on a really nice vacation! What about parents who have to work and arrange for childcare?
