It's toxic. There's a dozen reputable sources for this.
The air temp on synthetic fields is often 30-55 degrees hotter than the surrounding area.
The risk of injury is greatly increased. Professional sports players advocate for the return of grass fields.
They harbor infectious disease longer. Of particular note is MRSA.

You can't blame a field for a lack of retention of high schoolers. Maybe bring back the arts.
