Middle Township - Tinted windows were introduced to police vehicles with K-9 units to cut down on the heat for the dog. Tinted windows were also put on prosecutor's cars and the chief of police. These are the darker, blue model vehicles. Now you see it on 60 percent of law enforcement vehicles. The kicker is every Tom, Dick and Harry cop has their personal vehicles done. If you get a ticket, go to court and ask the judge to look at the personal vehicles in the parking lot. It's definitely a double standard.
Moderator's Note:
Our sources indicate that - apart from medical exceptions - after-market tinting is prohibited on the windshield and front side windows, but allowed on rear windows.
