Middle Township - With storms like the one March 14, there will inevitably be calls for more beach replenishment. Beach replenishment is an indefensible waste of tax dollars. No one forced people to build their homes or business on barrier islands. Taxpayers shouldn't have to keep funding the protection of the properties owned by the wealthy who voluntarily chose to live near the ocean. Beach replenishment encourages and rewards people for foolishly living near the ocean. Let coastal towns fund beach replenishment themselves or end it!
