For the first time ever, the Herald is dedicating the pages of Spout Off on 4/15 to a specific purpose—honoring every person, business, government entity or leader who is making a sacrifice for the benefit of the community in these trying times of the pandemic. At the Herald, we are forever grateful for the remarkable work of our health care providers, first responders, and other essential workers who are keeping us safe. We can’t wait to read about our community heroes and their actions that will remain in our hearts for years to come.

Middle Township - To the Spouters arguing about the Middle Township Fire Siren, I agree with points made on both sides. While I do want this siren to go off when an automobile accident or a structure fire is reported, do we really need to have this siren go off for "reported smoke on the side of the road," which I just heard? Or other, less life-threatening situations. I think there is middle ground here that would greatly reduce the number of times is goes off while still helping to assemble volunteers for the most dire situations.
